The Canadian passport consistently ranks among the strongest in the world<\/span> in the Henley Passport Index. The index ranks passports by the number of destinations the holder can enter without a visa or with a visa on arrival, and the Canadian passport gives access to roughly 185 destinations, a figure it usually shares with a handful of European countries.<\/p>\n

    To complete a passport application you need all of the following:<\/p>\n

    1. Proof of Canadian citizenship<\/strong>
    \nA Canadian birth certificate or a citizenship certificate. If the document is on paper, the original must be submitted; photocopies are not accepted. If you hold an electronic citizenship certificate, include a printed copy.<\/p>\n

    \nThis can be an original or a photocopy. If you send a copy, both sides must be visible, and it must be signed and dated by your guarantor or by an authorised signatory.<\/p>\n
