What to know before you go
Now that you know how to get there and where to stay, here are the points to keep in mind on the day, and while you prepare your documents and book your appointment.
- Consular services are by appointment only. Waiting times at missions in the region can run to several months for student, visitor and other categories. If you need an earlier slot, the expedited appointment service from Aval Visa can help you request one and monitor for openings; availability is set by the consulate and cannot be guaranteed.
- Prepare your documents against the checklist for your visa category and bring them with you. You may be asked to hand over some documents during the interview, and the online application form must be completed in advance.
If you do not know Ankara or its traffic, plan carefully so you arrive on time, and be at the embassy at least 30 minutes early. Do not bring prohibited items such as electronic devices, large bags or liquids.
Plan properly and travel without the stress
If you have not yet secured an appointment, or the uncertainty over dates is wearing you down, the Aval Visa team has extensive experience with expedited appointment requests. Leave the process with us and use the time to work on your English and rehearse for the interview.
A US visa application looks daunting at the start, but careful attention to detail, a complete set of documents and a clear account of the purpose of your trip put your application in the best position it can be. The decision itself rests with the consular officer.
